I’ve been reading this book as library classes start up again for the school year. It is lovely – it reminds us to treat our classmates respectfully and appreciate our similarities and differences.

I’m obsessed with this illustrated biography series by Maria Isabel Sánchez Vegara. It’s basically my go-to for Black History Month and International Women’s Day. For Black History Month this year, I read the Harriet Tubman and Martin Luther King Jr. ones and for International Women’s day I’ve been reading the Kamala Harris one pictured above. They are just so great for read-alouds and to introduce biography to kids. I need a budget just for this series!
Welcome to my new site! I used to blog over at breannebannerman.wordpress.com, but after many years of not doing any updates, I decided to create a (sort of) new site (I’m using the same theme) as I get back into it. My primary purpose for this site is really just to have a place to jot down my thoughts on books that I’ve read to my library classes in my elementary school. It’s nice to have a list of well-received books that I can refer back to when I’m in a pinch and need to choose a book quickly.
